The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Independent Learning Centre are pleased to partner together to bring the Homework Help Program to students. This free site focuses on providing live one-on-one math help from Ontario certified math teachers for students in Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10. The Merivale High School Mathematics department is offering Grade 9, 10, and 11 Enriched classes to complement our gifted course offerings. Students who have a keen interest in the subject area and generally achieve Level 4 (approximately 80% or higher) in the pre-requisite course, or by recommendation of their Grade 8,9,or 10 teacher, are encourage to select this on their option sheet.
Our Student Learning Support Network
Merivale Peer Tutoring Program – Every Tuesday and Thursday in Room L204 after school from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (run by senior students and community volunteers, generally good for junior students).
Senior students can visit L204 every MOnday at lunch and Wednesday after school to work with Andrea, our qualified teacher volunteer!
One-On-One Student Tutoring - Hire a grade 11 or 12 student to give private tutoring (see your teacher for information)
Professional Tutors - our Guidance Department maintains a list of professional tutors
Our teachers are often available for extra help — Ask your teacher when they are available.
